Assembly Elections 2026 Live: Voting begins in Assam, Kerala & Puducherry

Voting for the high-stakes Assembly elections in Kerala, Assam and Puducherry started at 7 am and will continue till 6 pm. Extensive security measures were taken and voting materials, including EVMs, were distributed to polling personnel in Kerala, Assam and Puducherry.
Assembly elections for Kerala (140 seats), Assam (126) and UT of Puducherry (30) will be held on Thursday. Second phase of the special intensive revision of the electoral rolls. Following the phase, more than 5.3 crore voters were eligible to vote – 2.5 cr in Assam, 2.7 cr in Kerala and 9.4 cr in Puducherry.
Elections to the 234-member Tamil Nadu Assembly and Phase I polls for 152 seats in West Bengal will be held on April 23. The remaining 142 seats in West Bengal will go to polls on April 29. The results will be announced on May 4.
