Dr Chris Brown: TV personality and veterinarian reveals worst pet names he’s heard at his Bondi practice

Few people have met more pets than TV star and animal lover Dr Chris Brown, as the former Bondi Vet star reveals the most memorable pet names he’s heard while working as a real-life vet in Sydney for more than two decades.

Revealing her list of the “best and worst pet names in vet hospital history” to fans on Instagram, Brown warned that some of the additions would be “weird.”

“Like Woodja said, ‘Can you stop doing that,'” he began.

“A fish named Swim Shady. Elfa, as in the letter L for Labrador. Prince Lopold I, Prince Lopold II and Prince Lopold III.

“Butthead, Asshole, Buttface. A rooster named Cluck Norris. President Meow.”

The charismatic figure noted that some of the names he heard resembled the ingredients needed to prepare a drink frequently purchased by Bondi locals.

“Goji, Cocoa, Chia, Coconut, and Spirulina are basically the ingredients in the superfood smoothie,” he continued.

“In Bondi this smoothie costs more than castrating dogs.

“…And Satan, who is actually quite cute.”

The TV vet put out a call to his 852,000 followers on the platform, asking them to comment on the most notable names they’ve come across.

“I had the sedation ready for the last one 😈 😂 But if you leave these aside, I would be happy to do part II… What is the best pet name you have ever heard?” Brown asked.

Naturally, the Channel 7 personality’s post was well received, with no pun intended.

“I had a dog named Penny (because she was copper colored). When they had puppies, we named them Nickel and Dime. My brother also named one of his goats Barbie – a Barbie-like name,” one fan wrote.

Another added: “One of the biggest disappointments of my life was when a cat named Schrödinger was brought in for a consultation. Frankly, I asked if the cat was in the box. The owners looked confused, looking between me and the carrier. Turns out they had adopted the cat and had not the slightest idea of the reference. I hate a useless pun.”

Some of the names imitated music and movie stars, such as “Kendrick Galah,” “Toast Malone” and “Hiss Hemsworth.”

Others evoked fictional characters, including a Stimson python named “Homer Stimson” and a turtle named “Voldetort,” named after Harry Potter’s sinister Lord Voldemort.
