‘Fed up’ with Trump and Putin affecting UK energy costs

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said he was “tired” of seeing energy bills in the UK go up and down due to the actions of US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Comments made in an interview ITV News’ Talking Politics podcast The report, released Thursday, comes as oil prices soar during the U.S.-Israeli war in Iran fluctuate amid a fragile two-week ceasefire.
“I’m tired of seeing energy bills for families across the country going up and down, corporate energy bills going up and down because of Putin or Trump’s actions around the world,” Starmer said.
Russia invaded Ukraine in February 2022, starting a war that lasted years. hundreds of thousands of deaths and shook the global economy.
White House press secretary Anna Kelly defended Trump’s actions.
“Many world leaders have been talking about the threat posed by Iran for decades but doing nothing about it,” he said by email. “President Trump has taken bold action to ensure that Iran will never have a nuclear weapon, and as he has said, we are far from reaching a definitive agreement to achieve lasting peace.”
Starmer also said it was “wrong” for Israel to order a deadly attack on Lebanon during a ceasefire. Iran accused the United States of violating the pause in hostilities, citing in part the Lebanon attacks.
