Israel to negotiate with Lebanon, says Netanyahu, as attacks continue; ceasefire holds ahead of Pakistan peace talks; Strait of Hormuz remains closed
In a statement he read on state television hours ago, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei said that Iran will take the management of the strategic Strait of Hormuz to a new stage.
“Iran does not seek war, but it will not give up its rights and sees all resistance fronts as a united entity,” Khamenei added.
Other quotes from Khamenei’s statement Iran International “It should not be assumed that the declaration of intention to negotiate with the enemy means that there is no need for a presence on the streets,” he said.
“On the contrary, even if hypothetically a period of silence becomes necessary in the military field, the task of everyone who can be present in the squares, neighborhoods and mosques seems heavier than before. Your slogans on the streets are effective in shaping the outcome of the negotiations.”
