PD Act Invoked Against Interstate Theft Offender in Satya Sai District

-Anantapur: Satya Sai district has invoked the Preventive Detention (PD) Act against an inter-state habitual criminal involved in multiple theft cases.

Kadiri DSP Narayana Swamy said the accused, Pasupuleti Sai Kumar of Nandiganipalle in Tanakal mandal, has a history of property crimes, including break-ins and thefts, in Andhra Pradesh and neighboring states.

Based on the evidence and his criminal record, Tanakal police made a motion to arrest him under the Police Act. District authorities approved the preventive detention order.

The DSP said that the accused continued his criminal activities after securing bail in previous cases, which posed a threat to public safety and property.

“The preventive detention was initiated to prevent his habitual involvement in theft cases and to maintain public order,” he said.

The accused was transferred to Kadapa Central Jail.
