Shane Lowry records hole-in-one at Augusta National in 2026 Masters

Drinks are at Shane Lowry’s in Augusta.

The Irishman recorded a hole-in-one on the sixth hole at Augusta National on Saturday and sent the patrons into a frenzy.

It was his seventh ace ever on the sixth hole and Lowry’s second ace on the Masters. He also recorded an ace on the 16th hole in 2016.

He is currently the only player in golf history to have two aces at Augusta National.

Any ace at the Masters is memorable, but this one may have extra significance as Lowry moves up the leaderboard and is tied for second at the par 8-under par.

When he putt one on the hole, Lowry was four shots behind Rory McIlroy, who entered the day with a six-shot lead over the field, good for the largest 36-hole lead in tournament history.

However, he made bogey on the first hole as Patrick Reed birdied his first three holes, suddenly increasing McIlroy’s lead to two. But Reed made bogey on the fourth hole and McIlroy birdied the third for a two-shot putt.

Lowry, 39, is looking for his second career major after also winning the Open Championship at Royal Portrush in 2019.

Lowry hit the winning shot at the Ryder Cup at Bethpage last year after spending most of the weekend partnering McIlroy.
