Mentally Unstable Man Allegedly Sets Mother On Fire

Prakasam: In a shocking case of alleged matricide that has surfaced in Gaddalagunta area of ​​Ongole in Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh, a 70-year-old woman named Venkata Ramanamma was allegedly set on fire by her son on the morning of Tuesday, April 14, 2026.

According to the information obtained, the incident took place in the rented house where the accused Kishore Babu was staying with his mother. According to neighbours, Kishore Babu, who runs a meat shop, has reportedly had fights with his mother in the past, is mentally unstable and is also addicted to alcohol.

Allegedly, Kishore Babu poured gasoline on Ramanamma and set her on fire while she was sleeping. Neighbors who noticed the flames encountered Kishore Babu, who gave evasive answers and fled the scene.

Fire brigade and police immediately arrived at the scene, but Ramanamma was already dead and burned beyond recognition. The police have launched an investigation into the incident and are investigating the incident. The body was sent to RIMS in Ongole for post-mortem.
