While the Canadian city of Ottawa was shaken by an earthquake, local people said that houses shook and people were “scared”.

Earthquakes Canada reported a magnitude 3.9 earthquake northeast of Shawville, Que. Neighborhood residents said the earthquake “shook the houses” and lasted about 15-20 seconds. According to preliminary information, the earthquake occurred at noon today (local time) at a depth of 6.2 miles.
