Major UK travel company plunges into liquidation – holidays cancelled | UK | News

A well-known British travel firm selling holiday packages to Europe and Southeast Asia has gone bankrupt; All bookings were canceled and customers were left without refunds.

Regen Central LTD went into liquidation after losing its Air Travel Organizers License (ATOL) on 13 January. The impact this has on its customers is now fully revealed. ATOL, a scheme overseen by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), provides travelers with financial protection for package holidays, including refunds or repatriation if a travel company collapses.

However, certain flight packages, including accommodation-only and non-flight packages, fall outside the scope of ATOL, leaving passengers without the same level of refund protection.

The CAA said: “We understand that the company does not have any ATOL protected bookings. Bookings sold as flight-only bookings where accommodation, non-flight packages and tickets are issued are not protected by the ATOL scheme. No refunds will be given as these are not unexpected ATOL protected bookings.”

“If you believe that under Regen Central Ltd’s ATOL you are owed a refund for an ATOL protected booking please contact us by email at claims@caa.co.uk.

The travel operator was founded in 2011 and offers packages to Middle Eastern destinations including Italy, Bali and Thailand, as well as Dubai and Saudi Arabia. It previously operated under the trade names One Haji and Umrah, Regen Travels and Oneworld Travels.
