Billionaire Anil Agrawal named in Sakti power plant explosion FIR

A case of causing death by negligence has been registered against Vedanta group chairman Anil Agrawal and others in connection with the explosion at the power plant in Chhattisgarh’s Sakti district two days ago, Sakti Police Inspector Prafull Thakur said on Thursday, April 16, 2026.
To talk HinduMr. Thakur confirmed that Mr. Agrawal was named in the FIR registered at Dabhra police station under sections 106 (causing death by negligence), 289 (negligent conduct in relation to machinery) and 3(5) (common intention) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023.
