UFC champion Carlos Ulberg says he lost his title belt after UFC 327

UFC champion Carlos Ulberg said he lost the championship belt he won after capturing the light heavyweight title at UCF 327.

HE He told Fox Sports Australia He lost his gold belt while celebrating his victory on Monday.

“I lost my belt, bro,” Ulberg told FOX Sports. “Originally, our plan was to not drink after we won. But you know how these things work, right?” he said.

“First someone gives you champagne to celebrate. Then one thing leads to another and you take the shot.”

The 35-year-old player from New Zealand became the new light heavyweight champion by knocking out Jiri Prochazka, who suffered a knee injury, in the main event of UFC 327 in Miami this weekend.

The injury could sideline him for a year, meaning he will have to give up his champion status as UCF mounts an interim title challenge to replace him.

But Ulberg said he’s pretty confident his belt will be found before he heads to Las Vegas to get further evaluation from doctors on his knee. He then plans to spend time at the UFC Performance Institute before returning to New Zealand to be with his family.

“I didn’t want to carry the belt with me, so I think it’s still somewhere in the apartment. One of the kids probably has it with him in bed,” Ulberg said.
