Pune Airport Runway Restored After IAF Aircraft Snag; Ops Resume

Pune: The runway at Pune airport, which was temporarily unavailable due to an incident involving an Indian Air Force (IAF) aircraft, has now been restored and declared operational, the Air Force said on Saturday. Officials at Pune International Airport had earlier said that a fighter jet suffered an undercarriage failure while landing around 10.25 pm on Friday, causing the runway to become blocked.
It was stated that the flights of around 91 airline companies, including IndiGo, Air India, SpiceJet, Akasa and Air India Express, were affected by the incident. Earlier on Friday night, the Air Force had said that the runway at Pune airport was temporarily unavailable following an incident involving one of its fighter jets. It was stated that the aircraft crew was safe and there was no damage to civilian property.

Flight operations at Pune airport are being gradually restarted. A Defense PRO said the situation was under control, with the safety of citizens being given top priority.
