Census portal shows Chinese name for Arunachal Pradesh town; issue fixed, say officials

A retired Indian Air Force (IAF) officer on Saturday, April 18, 2026, expressed concerns that the self-enumeration portal for the ongoing Census exercise was wrongly portraying Pasighat in Arunachal Pradesh as a town called Medog in China.

Census officials then said Saturday evening that the problem had been resolved.
