Manchester City Beats Arsenal 2-1 For Huge Win in Premier League Title Race

Manchester: Manchester City turned the Premier League title race in its favor by beating Arsenal 2-1 on Sunday, thanks to Erling Haaland’s second-half winner.
Haaland’s league-leading 23rd goal in the 65th minute allowed City to narrow the gap to long-time leaders Arsenal to three points. City have a game at Burnley on Wednesday, after which Pep Guardiola’s side could take the lead.
Rayan Cherki gave City the lead in the 16th minute of a thrilling match at the Etihad Stadium by entering the penalty area and turning his shot inside the post.
Arsenal came back within two minutes after Kai Havertz headed in Gianluigi Donnarumma’s clearance and the ball rebounded into the goal from close range.
Both Haaland and Arsenal’s Eberechi Eze struck the target before Haaland flicked home Nico O’Reilly’s cross, dealing a huge blow to Arsenal’s hopes of a first league title since 2004.
City are expected to beat Burnley but have a tougher game than Arsenal, which also includes Everton and Bournemouth.
Unlike City, who are unbeaten in 10 league games, Arsenal are struggling to stay in form and have lost four of their last six games in all competitions, including the last two in the league.
Mikel Arteta’s team also needs to maintain balance in the Champions League after reaching the semi-finals.
