Nike removes running ad in Boston for ‘pace shaming’

If you need a quick recap of what it’s like to live in the year 2026, boy, have I got a story for you.

Nike recently hung a sign on Newberry Street ahead of the Boston Marathon that would seem innocuous to anyone with a brain.

However, it would be wise to remind yourself that these are foolish times.

You can find Nike shoes, tracksuits, socks and more on Amazon. (iStock)

Take a look at exactly what the sign says and see for yourself why people are so offended.

“Runners are welcome. Walkers are tolerated.”

Smart and cute. Or so I thought.

Nike reportedly received huge backlash for “speed shaming” and was forced to take it down and apologize.

Okay, now we’re just making up words, right?

“Speed shaming?” We truly are living through some of the gentlest times imaginable.

Also “a big backlash?” How many people complained about this terrible sign that a company like Nike felt obliged to remove?

But still, this is Nike we’re talking about.

It’s the same company that allegedly funded a study on young transgender athletes, so of course they’re not exactly playing with a full deck here.

Regardless, I find it hard to believe that more than two or three people are bitching and whining about this sign, and I’m pretty sure all three of them have never even seen the inside of a gym, let alone run a marathon.

Nike is being bashed in every corner of the internet, so I’m guessing the backlash they got when they took down the sign was much greater than the backlash they got initially.

With how bad the obesity epidemic has gotten in this country, I think we could use a “rate reducer” or two.

This is just another example of a very vocal minority having their way while the rest of us normies stand around scratching our heads, wondering how the slope got so slippery.

Nike bowing to the woke crowd is nothing new, but it couldn’t be less discouraging.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have to “embarrass” my two-year-old son because that baby weight doesn’t seem to be going anywhere (kidding, kid).
