The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress sparred in Madhya Pradesh on Monday, April 20, 2026, over the Constitution (131st Amendment) Bill, which was rejected in Parliament last week.
While the ruling party Jan Akrosh Mahila Padyatra held a march in Bhopal and accused the Congress of being “anti-women” and “taking away women’s rights”, the Congress alleged that the BJP was making a “despicable” attempt to abuse its executive powers by linking restriction with women’s reservations.
