Tim Walz new “Small Town PAC” draws conservative backlash online

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz launched a federal political action committee on Monday, and the name of the new initiative quickly caused a stir on social media among conservatives.

Walz’s PAC, first reported It’s called “Small Town PAC” in Politico Playbook. The governor said he wants to “show up in small towns” and “organize in places where many people have given up and build power with the people who call those places home.”

“If Democrats want to win in more places, we need to start showing up in more places,” Walz said. he wrote in an X post.

There was Walz widely ridiculed by conservatives in 2024 when he runs for vice president because of his attempts to influence rural voters, such as touting his blue-collar roots and hunting hobby.

“Small towns and villages voted overwhelmingly against you, Tim,” Townhall columnist Dustin Grage wrote. Published on X. “We think your policies are despicable.”

“Small towns across Minnesota hate @Tim_Walz,” Minnesota Republican gubernatorial candidate and State Representative Kristin Robbins said. Published on X.

“Infamously disparaged @RocksAndCowsHQ and the left because so many oppose their policies!”

Daniel Turner, Executive Director of Power the Future wrote to x“Oh my god, small town America hates everything you stand for: open borders, trans madness, defunding the police, rampant crime, the Somali scam.”

Minnesota State Rep. Harry Niska, R-Ramsey, said, “If Democrats want to win again in small towns, this is the last person they should listen to. During his eight years as governor, he showed voters across Greater Minnesota that the DFL no longer represents them.” Published on X

Others on social media, including Grage, deleted his 2024 campaign nickname, “Tampon Tim,” which conservatives used to mock Walz’s much-maligned support for a bill that would put free menstrual products in all school restrooms, including for boys.

In announcing the new PAC, Walz did not miss the opportunity to attack his one-time rival, Vice President J.D. Vance.

“Republicans like J.D. Vance like to portray their small-town neighbors as short-sighted, resentful and close-minded. I don’t agree with that. I think Republicans like J.D. Vance are the problem facing small towns,” he said.

Vance’s office responded: “The problem facing many small towns in Minnesota is that Tim Walz is giving their money to fake daycares.”

Fox News Digital did not hear from Walz’s office when reached for comment.

Walz’s new political push comes nearly four months after mounting pressure from a massive fraud scandal under his watch forced him to abandon his re-election bid as governor.

Small Town PACs website It suggests that after leaving office at the end of the year, Walz will work with Democrats to “build the future” by “investing in people with new ideas, energy and integrity” to “strengthen the Democratic Party from the top down.”
