UK weather maps show 21C scorcher hitting UK this weekend – hotter than Ibiza | Weather | News

Much of the UK is bracing for a mini spring scorcher this weekend, with weather maps showing temperatures could reach 21C (hotter than Ibiza) in some areas. WXCharts weather maps, created on 21 April using Met Desk data, suggest warmer conditions will arrive on Saturday, 25 April, with southern and central parts of the country seeing top temperatures between 18C and 21C by 6pm.
Maps show London, the South East, East Anglia and parts of the Midlands are expected to be among the hottest areas. Forecast maps show temperatures reaching 20C across London, Essex, Kent and Hertfordshire, while parts of Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire and the East Midlands could also reach 20C or 21C. Temperatures are expected to be around 18 to 19 degrees further south-west in Bristol, Somerset and parts of Devon, according to the graphs. According to the maps, most of Wales is expected to have temperatures between 16°C and 18°C, while northern England could see highs of 15°C to 18°C, while Scotland is expected to be cooler overall, with some western areas still likely to have temperatures of 15°C or 16°C. Maps show that northern and eastern Scotland is likely to remain much colder, with temperatures in some places reaching just 6 to 10 degrees.
Warmer conditions are expected to follow a cooler and more unstable spell at the start of the week, bringing a more pleasant end to April for many parts of the UK.
Forecast high temperatures will make parts of Britain warmer than Ibiza, where temperatures are expected to peak around 20C on Saturday 25 April.
According to Spanish national weather forecaster AEMET, the highest temperature in Ibiza on Saturday is expected to be 20°C and the lowest temperature 10°C, with intermittent sunshine, 50% rain expected later in the day and winds from the east around 15 km per hour.
Ibiza is expected to remain warm until Sunday and Monday, with temperatures of 21C and 22C respectively.
The warmest conditions in the UK are expected to be concentrated in inland areas of southern and eastern England, while coastal areas may remain slightly cooler due to sea breezes.
Separately, the Met Office forecast, looking at the days between Thursday and Saturday, says: “This week has been largely sunny and calm with winds easing. Cloudy and cool at times with an onshore breeze along the east coast. Warming up in the south and west.”
