Trump humiliated as disastrous Iran war costs US $25billion | World | News

Donald Trump has already spent a staggering $25 billion to finance the war in Iran, according to a new report. The American Enterprise Institute (AEI) found that the conflict, which is about to exceed two months, is costing the United States between $25 billion and $35 billion.

A Congressional source told The Hill that $5.6 billion worth of munitions were used in the first two days of the war alone. Since the conflict began on February 28, the Pentagon has deployed more than 1,200 Patriot missiles, each of which carries a hefty price tag of more than $4 million.

The cost of a single Tomahawk cruise missile is approximately $2.2 million to $3.6 million per unit, depending on the version, production block and purchase contract.

Newer, more advanced variants such as the naval attack model can cost over $4 million, while land-based launchers can cost more than $6 million.

The Pentagon also estimates that approximately 1,100 JASSM-ER missiles have been used, of which only 1,500 remain in the military’s inventory. These low-observable, long-range cruise missiles cost about $1.1 million each

This staggering level of spending has depleted supplies, with Senator Jack Reed of the Armed Services Committee warning that “it could take years to rebuild the amount we spent.”

Congress has yet to approve additional funding for the Defense Department, meaning it cannot currently pay manufacturers to replace supplies, officials told the New York Times.

Despite warnings from experts that production was not increasing fast enough due to lack of funds, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt maintained that the United States had enough weapons “to carry out any military operation.”

He said: “The United States has the most powerful military in the world, amply stocked with weapons and ammunition here at home and throughout the world to effectively defend the homeland and carry out any military operation directed by the commander in chief.”
