GHMC Removes 896 Road Encroachments Across the Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Continuing its drive to eliminate roadside encroachments, GHMC said it demolished 896 road structures in all six districts in the city on Saturday. The driving was carried out in coordination with traffic and security police. Authorities focused on clearing footpaths and roadsides along major road lanes in each district.
Authorities stated that 440 of the removed violations were permanent and 456 were temporary. The non-governmental organization stated that a total of 2,337 encroachments have been removed so far during three special tours held on April 4, April 18 and April 25.
GHMC officials said such drives will continue in the coming weeks to keep the roads free of obstacles. The initiative is part of efforts to improve urban mobility and provide safer movement for both pedestrians and vehicles.
The company also called on citizens and shopkeepers not to occupy sidewalks or roadsides. He warned that if cooperation is not expanded, any illegal encroachment will be eliminated by the authorities.
