UDF will probe “corruption” in the cancellation of DBFOO power supply contracts if it comes to power: V.D. Satheesan

The Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF), if voted to power, will launch an investigation into the “corruption” behind its decision to cancel long-term Design, Build, Finance, Own and Operate (DBFOO) power supply contracts of 465 MW, Opposition Leader VD Satheesan said on Saturday.

Mr. Satheesan said it was the decision to cancel these contracts that led to unplanned load shedding and power curtailments across the state this summer. He said that such restrictions imposed during this period when summer temperatures increase even at night should be lifted immediately.
