Trump rushed off stage at White House Correspondents’ Assn. dinner; reports of gunshots
WASHINGTON— President Trump was evacuated from the White House Correspondents’ Assn. An incident at dinner on Saturday evening led to security intervention and gunshots were reported to have been heard.
A Times reporter who attended the dinner had to take shelter in the restroom. He said he heard four to five gunshots around 8:30 p.m. Eastern time. He said security told him that the person might have a firearm. It is not yet known whether the person is dead or injured.

Although Trump’s location is not yet known, a presidential motorcade was seen in front of the Washington Hilton hotel at around 20.45 in the evening.
An ambulance arrived on scene at approximately the same time and approximately 100 event attendees were escorted out of the safety of the event. Most of the participants are still at the hotel.
