A manifesto apparently sent to the family of the suspect who opened fire on the White House Correspondents’ Association in Washington, DC, provided law enforcement with crucial information about gun and bullet selection.

Suspected gunman Cole Allen reportedly sent a chilling anti-President Trump manifesto to his family, calling himself a “Friendly Federal Assassin,” shortly before opening fire at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner on Saturday night. According to The Washington Post, Trump stated that he was determined to kill administration officials.

In the manifesto, Allen allegedly said he planned to use buckshot instead of slugs “To minimize harms.” He is also said to have added, “I will use buckshot instead of slugs (less penetration through walls),” before confirming he would be willing to kill anyone present, NYP wrote.

A U.S. official said the mind-boggling memo, sent about 10 minutes before the attack, listed its “targets” as “Administration officials (who were not involved).” [FBI Director Kash] Patel)… prioritized from highest to lowest.”

“I will no longer allow a pedophile, rapist and traitor to lay his hands on his crimes,” Allen wrote in the manifesto, referring to allegations made by critics against Trump that were denied by the President.

“If it were absolutely necessary, I would still call most people here to achieve the goals (on the basis that most people choose to engage in the conversation of a pedophile, rapist and traitor and are therefore complicit), but I really hope it doesn’t come to that,” Allen added.

The document alleges that Allen invoked his Christian faith and presented parts of it as a “rebuttal” to expected criticisms of his intended actions. He also touched on controversial political issues, including the Trump administration’s attack on drug ships in Venezuela and the detention of illegal immigrants.

“Turning the other cheek is for when you’re under pressure. I’m not the person who was raped in a detention camp. I’m not the fisherman who was executed without trial,” Allen said in a deeply disturbing document handed over to police by a family member, according to the US official. It seems that he wrote:

According to the New York Post, the manifesto continued: “I am not a blown-up schoolboy, a starved child, or a teenage girl abused by the many criminals in this administration. Turning the other cheek when someone else is oppressed is not Christian behavior; it is complicity in the crimes of the oppressor.”

An official told The Post that Allen’s brother was in New London, Conn., about the manifesto. He reported that he reached the police department. The Secret Service interviewed Allen’s sister in Rockville, Maryland, and discovered that she regularly made politically extreme comments and talked about doing “something” to solve the world’s problems. These documents are currently being reviewed as part of an active investigation, according to law enforcement and White House officials who spoke to CBS News.

Sources told the press that the articles stated that the suspect intended to target administration officials, but did not directly mention the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner. Investigators also discovered anti-Trump and anti-Christian material on the suspect’s social media accounts.

The man accused of trying to force his way into a ballroom during a White House Correspondents’ Association dinner armed with firearms and knives had traveled across the country before the incident, and government officials are believed to have conspired to target the President Donald Trump and other senior administration figures, it was announced Sunday by Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche.

Blanche explained that investigators believe the suspect traveled by train from California to Chicago before heading to Washington, where he checked into the hotel that hosted the high-profile dinner Saturday night several days in advance. He attempted to enter the spacious Washington Hilton ballroom but was overwhelmed during a frantic argument that led to shots being fired, President Donald Trump being rushed off the stage and guests diving under tables for safety, authorities said.

Speaking to NBC’s “Meet the Press” program, Blanche said, “It appears that he actually attempted to target people who work in the administration, including the president.”

Investigators believe the suspect acquired the two firearms found on him within the last few years, Blanche said. He has refused to cooperate with authorities and is expected to face a series of charges on Monday.

In the footage shared by Trump, the suspect is seen quickly breaking through security barriers as Secret Service agents approach him. Authorities confirmed that a police officer was struck by a bullet-resistant vest and is recovering. Police said the suspect was taken into custody without injury but was taken to a medical facility for evaluation.

“It failed,” Blanche said on CBS’ Face the Nation. “Law enforcement did their job.” Blanche confirmed that investigators believe the suspect fired the gun that struck the Secret Service officer, who is expected to make a full recovery. “He’s going to be great, he’s going to be fine, and thank God he was wearing a bulletproof vest,” Blanche said on ABC’s “This Week” on Sunday.

Online profiles apparently belonging to the suspect indicate that he is a well-educated teacher and amateur video game developer.
