Heart-stopping video shot from inside a school bus showed nearly a dozen Mississippi middle school students springing into action after the bus driver lost consciousness behind the wheel on Wednesday.
Video from the Hancock County School District shows driver Leah Taylor passing out during an asthma attack as the bus continues moving forward.
A student at the front of the bus noticed Taylor leaning over and holding the steering wheel and briefly regained consciousness.

As the bus collapsed for the second time and fell backwards, other students ran in front of the bus.
While a girl handed the medicine in Taylor’s hand, a boy quickly hit the brakes and others called for help.

Hancock Middle School principal Melissa Saucier told local media WLOX “He wasn’t surprised to hear our kids stayed calm and moved quickly.”
“This emergency certainly could have been detrimental, and they handled it exactly the way they should have,” Saucier said. “We are extremely proud of them.”
