British woman, 31, is missing in Morocco after she was ‘last seen leaving nightclub known for drink spiking’

The 31-year-old British woman, who disappeared in Morocco, was last seen ‘leaving a nightclub known for increasing alcohol’ three days ago.

Rachel Kerr, from Falkirk, Scotland, was on a business trip in the resort town of Agadir when she was last seen leaving Smart Nightclub at 5am last Saturday after ‘running out of money’.

The model and content creator was staying at the Caribbean Village Hotel before she disappeared on April 25.

Kerr’s family, who appealed to find him, said that they had not heard from him since then and that his phone was turned off.

Her cousin Claire Hill said in an online appeal today: ‘My cousin is missing from Agadir, Morocco. It is known that he last stayed at the Caribbean Village hotel.

‘However, he debuted on Saturday and we haven’t heard from him since. His phone was turned off.

‘We are very concerned for his welfare and are appealing for any information on his whereabouts or who he may be in contact with.’

Concerns were raised on social media after Ms Kerr was last seen at Smart Nightclub, described as ‘a popular dance venue within the Hotel Agador complex in the heart of Agadir’.

One person wrote online: ‘I would be very concerned if he frequented the Smart nightclub as it was notorious for getting drunk.

‘I would definitely involve the police.’

Another added: ‘Being smart is no good place for a young person. I hope he is found safe.’

A woman who said she saw Ms Kerr in Agadir a week ago wrote: ‘I met her when I was there last week.

‘She’s a cute girl, but she’s very confused. On the way home, he talked to his brother and his girlfriend at the airport.

‘From what I understand, he was being taken to Marrakech for deportation. I send my love to all of you. This is so sad.’

But a relative of Rachel’s replied: ‘He didn’t go to Marrakesh and his brother had to leave.’

Sarah Lee, who also claimed she met Rachel in Agadir while on holiday, said: ‘I saw her before we left as we were there at the same time and her brother came to pick her up.

‘She said she fell in love with a Moroccan man and he broke her heart. ‘He was very emotional and weak.’

Miss Kerr’s friend Alexis Shaw said: ‘The police are involved. He was last seen at Smart Nightclub at 5am on Saturday morning.

‘He ran out of money completely on Friday. If anyone has seen him as police try to locate him to get him home safely, please get in touch.’

Ms Shaw added: ‘He was due to fly home a few weeks ago and his brother flew out to find him, but he hid his passport because he was in a poor mental state at the moment.

‘His brother had to leave for work a few days later and came home and he was refusing to come home either.

‘He is no longer at the hotel and has run out of money.’

Another British holidaymaker, who claimed to have met Rachel while in Morocco, responded on Facebook: ‘She was there when I was there a month ago.

‘A little Scottish girl, I was talking to her there.’

He described her as a ‘vulnerable woman’ and added: ‘Her stay in the hotel was over so she was heading to the town of Agadir to stay, I remember chatting with other British holidaymakers there [about] How worried I was.

‘Then the night before we flew home, he showed up again after staying at a flat in the city. He said that someone reached him via message and he was disturbed by it.

‘Then he flew home, so he must have gone back there. He said he met with a worker at one of the hotels there.

‘But I heard you took the worker’s story to get money from him. He was not happy with this situation.

‘I hope he is found well. ‘When I got there I told him he needed to be careful and that I was worried about him.’

Ms Kerr is known for her travel content on social media. It has worked with online brands by promoting foreign trips, including a tour of Agadir in October.

Ms Kerr posted about the region on social media during her time in Morocco, and her last post on Instagram was on 13 April.

She is also known for her modeling work, public speaking, and being a published author.
