IMD forecasts thunderstorms and rainfall in Odisha, providing relief from extreme heat conditions

People are facing hardships due to sweltering heat, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, predicting that rainfall and thunderstorms are likely to occur in Odisha in the next few days.

IMD Scientist Sanjeev Dwivedi told MOMENT“Yesterday the temperature was high, but today the scenario is changing… People are experiencing difficulties due to the heat in the surrounding regions. There will be rain and thunderstorms in the coming period… A yellow warning has been issued for hot and humid weather.”
