Kevin Knight is climbing the ranks in All Elite Wrestling. On “Dynamite,” Maxwell earned a shot at the AEW World Championship after defeating Jacob Friedman (MJF).
Knight and MJF challenged for the TNT Championship a week after their match on “Dynamite.” MJF was still feeling burned after losing the AEW World Championship to Darby Allin two weeks ago.
MJF gave Knight everything he could handle. He dropped Knight on his back against the barrier, hit Knight with a brutal cutter and a Panama sunrise. Knight endured it all. When MJF tried to use the Dynamite diamond ring to his advantage, Knight hit MJF with a low blow.
Knight rolled up MJF and picked up the pinfall victory.

After the match, MJF attacked Knight in frustration before Allin came to the save. He put MJF in the Scorpion Death Drop. Allin then said that Knight would receive a shot at the AEW World Championship if he defeated Brody King later in the night. King came out and also noted that Knight was the #1 contender should he pick up the victory.
Allin entered the kennel and immediately began to feel the pain. He hit King with a cannonball to start the match and then attempted a suicide dive through the ropes to the outside. Instead, he jumped over King like it was nothing.
As the match progressed, King felt like he had the upper hand outside the ring. But King quickly realized he couldn’t take his eyes off Allin. The daredevil lifted King into a sitting position on a chair, went to the top rope and hit King with a dropkick, which appeared to damage both opponents.

King took control in an attempt to wear Allin down. He used his great size to his advantage and tore Allin apart piece by piece. As King tried to inflict more damage, Allin jumped on his back. But King took Allin for a ride and threw himself over the “AEW Dynamite” announce table cover set up near the barrier.
The referee implored both players to enter the ring. Instead they went to the top of the announce table. Allin managed to create an incredible Code Red on the table that didn’t back down even an inch. King returned to the match and hit Allin with a cannonball and a lariat. However, in the final moments of the match, Allin could not score even though he looked like a rag doll.

King threw Allin across the ring and placed him over the barrier. As Allin was dragged, the concrete floor was revealed. King set Allin up against the barrier and attempted to inflict a large amount of damage, but missed and went through the barrier.
Allin managed to recover enough to powerbomb King onto the exposed concrete and then hit a Coffin Drop. King almost got a count out but when he got back in the ring Allin was waiting for him with multiple Coffin Drops.
In one of the craziest matches of the week, Allin managed to retain the AEW World Championship.
Cope and Cage accept FTR’s challenge
Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler, the tag team known as FTR, have upped the ante on their New York street fight set for Double or Nothing next month. They wanted to compete against Adam Copeland and Christian Cage in an I Quit match.
On Wednesday night, Copeland and Cage said they had accepted the challenge from the AEW world tag team champions. If Copeland and Cage lose the match, they will no longer be a team in AEW.

“We agree,” Cage said in an interview with Renee Paquette.
“It was a quick admission, given the history of I Quit matches here,” Cope said, referring to Cage’s defeat in an I Quit match against him at Revolution in 2024.
Cage responded: “I told you once, I told you a thousand times, I told everyone, I never said ‘I quit.’ I didn’t.”

Other notes from Dynamite
Ring of Honor world champion Bandido’s appearance on AEW programming over the past few weeks has caused terror in small cowboy towns. Things went a little differently for “Wanted Man” on Wednesday night. Another story played out in the same town where Bandido was located, showing more terror. Instead, it was Swerve Strickland who was after Bandido. Strickland hasn’t played a match in AEW since March, when he lost to Kenny Omega on “Dynamite.”
Will Ospreay attended the Riders of Death training session to rehab his ongoing neck injury. Jon Moxley, leader of the Death Riders, welcomed Ospreay with open arms but told him to leave his luggage at the door. The meeting marked the last chapter in their story.
However, Samoa Joe appeared in a backstage segment trying to remind Ospreay who he is. He said Opps would have his back if he needed it.
