Gunfire at PMJ Jewelry Showroom in Karimnagar; Four Staff Injured in Robbery
Karimnagar: Panic gripped Karimnagar’s Jyothinagar area on Sunday after unidentified gunmen stormed the PMJ Jewelery exhibition hall, opened fire on staff and fled with a significant amount of valuables. The daytime robbery left four employees injured and raised serious concerns about public safety in the city.
According to sources, a group of attackers entered the luxury jewelery store disguised as customers. After a while, they drew their firearms and started shooting to create panic and prevent resistance. In the chaos, four staff members suffered gunshot wounds and were taken to a nearby private hospital for emergency treatment.
After the conflict, the attackers looted the showcases, stuffed the jewelry into bags and fled. Residents and shopkeepers who heard the gunshots immediately reported the situation to the police. Senior officials and SWAT teams arrived on the scene within minutes to secure the area and initiate preliminary investigation.
Police have cordoned off the exhibition hall and are reviewing CCTV footage to identify the suspects and find escape routes. Forensic teams were also deployed to collect evidence.
While checkpoints were established at important exit points to intercept the gang, a massive manhunt was launched throughout the region. Details about the value of the stolen property are expected to be released after store management completes the inventory.
