Adequate Seed, Fertiliser Stocks Available For Kharif, Says Collector

ADILABAD: District collector Rajarshi Shah on Sunday assured farmers that there is no need to panic, saying adequate stocks of seeds and fertilizers are available in Adilabad district for the upcoming kharif season.
Addressing the media, the collector said that as of May 2, 1,24,700 packets of cottonseeds and 900 quintals of soyabean seeds were available in the district. He added that seed companies are ready to provide additional stock based on demand.
He said cotton and soybean seeds will be fully available at fertilizer and seed sales outlets in the area within the next week.
Giving detailed information about fertilizer availability, Shah said that currently 6,565 metric tonnes of urea, 381 metric tonnes of DAP and 13,759 metric tonnes of complex fertilizers are stocked in private stores and markets.
