Jodie Sweetin says she once received a 1-cent ‘Full House’ residual check

Despite the huge success behind the hit ’90s sitcom “Full House,” Jodie Sweetin’s remaining checks aren’t exactly “reliable.”
During an appearance “McBride Rewind” podcastThe 44-year-old actress, who rose to fame as Stephanie Tanner throughout the show’s eight seasons from 1987 to 1995 and then starred in the spinoff series “Fuller House” from 2016 to 2020, shared the shocking amount she received from her last remaining check.
“I got a check for a dime the other day. No, there’s no syndication anymore because everything is streamed. Who gets paid for that? Nobody gets paid for that,” he said.

“Sure, there would be money in my 20s, but it’s not reliable,” he continued. “You don’t know how much it’s going to be or how often they’re going to air the show. So sometimes you’re like, ‘Oh, great. That was nice.'” And sometimes you’re like, ‘Okay, there’s a nice dinner out.’ “

“You kind of don’t know. So it’s not something you can trust,” Sweetin added. “I always say, people think I live an extravagant life. And I say, ‘Honey, I drive my 2023 used Hyundai Sonata, which I love. I rent my house. I have maxed out credit cards.’ I live a normal life,” she explained. “And yes, there are moments when you think, ‘This is going well,’ and there are times when you think, ‘I need a day job.'”
Once “Full house” Sweetin, whose career ended in the mid-90s, has previously said he suffered an identity crisis.

“I was all over the place. I think that’s why I found it stimulating. I would be more sober than anyone in the room. I was looking for a way to make my brain work better,” he said during an episode of the program. “Skinny Secret” Podcast in 2025.
The mother of two said she knew she was heading down a dangerous path as her addiction continued.

“I knew for a very long time that I was heading down a path that would either lead to prison, institutions or death,” he said. “I was getting so close. I didn’t think I’d see my 30th birthday the way I did when I was in my mid-20s…my life changed. I got married again and found out I was pregnant right away and I was like, ‘Okay, this is what we’re doing.'”
“I didn’t have a perfect journey, but that’s what changed everything,” she said of her first pregnancy. “It’s like party time is over.”

Sweetin achieved sobriety in 2008 after using drugs and alcohol for 15 years.

These days, the actor and activist said that he would gladly reprise his role if the opportunity arises.
“I’ll never say never to anything. And you know, if I were to come back in another 20 years and work with these people again that I’ve known my whole life, yeah, I would definitely do that,” he said on the “McBride Rewind” podcast.
“I love what ‘Full House’ has done. I love what it’s created. I love what it means to people. And I think as you become an adult and start living life a little bit more, I realize how important it is to have that thing that connects you to your younger, more confident self, and I know that ‘Full House does this. So I’m excited to continue doing that in any way I can.”
