Mel B and Mel C send fans wild with mini Spice Girls reunion as they perform band’s hits on stage for the first time since 2019

As Mel C and Mel B brought back iconic ’90s nostalgia on Saturday night, the duo shared a surprise onstage reunion of the Spice Girls.
Fans cheered as Mel B made an unexpected appearance at Mel C’s album launch show in Leeds, before coming together to perform one of the girl group’s most enduring hits.
To celebrate the release of her new solo album Sweat, Mel C, 52, took to the stage to perform her euphoria-inspired tracks and showed off her chiseled abs in the classic Sporty Spice outfit of sweatpants and crop top.
He was soon joined on stage by 50-year-old Scary Spice, who wasted no time in praising her former bandmate and addressed the crowd: ‘Isn’t it great? ‘I literally stand there singing every word and more or less crying.’
An emotional Mel C said as she held her friend’s hand: ‘I need to stop because this is such a special moment,’ causing Mel B to interrupt: ‘Don’t make me cry!’
‘I know, we can’t cry. We haven’t done this since 2019 girlfriend. Are you ready?’, Mel C replied, before the pair launched into the famous chorus of the 1997 hit Spice Up Your Life.

Fans cheered as Mel B made an unexpected appearance at Mel C’s album launch show in Leeds before coming together to perform one of the girl group’s most enduring hits.
Even though it’s been almost three decades since the release of the iconic Spice Girls track, the two singers looked like they hadn’t aged at all as they energetically danced on stage to the cheers of the audience.
They found fame in the iconic girl group alongside Emma Bunton, Victoria Beckham and Geri Horner from 1996 until their split in 2001.
Since then, the band reunited for a world tour in 2007, performed at the 2012 London Olympics closing ceremony, and toured the UK, minus Victoria, in 2019.
Taking to Instagram on Sunday, both Mels shared videos of the spirited performance and touching photos of them posing together backstage.
Mel C paid tribute to her ‘Spice sister’ for her support, writing in her post: ‘It’s lovely to be back in Leeds with my Spice sister @officialmelb, thank you for sharing the stage with me ✌❤️’.
Mel B, in turn, praised her ‘sister up north’ and expressed how proud she was of her friend and her new album.
‘I went to support my sister up north at the launch of her AMAZIN album SWEAT…. and finally got me on stage!’ wrote.
‘I LOVE YOU SO MUCH and I’m so proud of you @melaniecmusic!!! Everyone should go out and buy his album because it’s AMAZING and so is he!!!! #friendshipneverends’.

Fans were similarly excited about the Spice Girls’ mini-reunion, with comments branding the duo ‘two absolute icons’ and begging them to go on tour.
‘It’s like no time has passed – there’s still that 90’s magic!!’; ‘The sisters are doing this for themselves!!!!!; ‘Bring Emma and travel’;
‘I don’t think they realize what we’re all going to do for the reunion tour.’; ‘A magical moment for sure❤️❤️’; ‘What people want to see’;
‘If you two want to go on tour, we’re okay with that!’; ‘So many people’s hearts were full last night! ✌️’; ‘What a special moment!’;
‘So the iconic @officialmelb @melaniecmusic you both need to go on tour xxx’; ‘What fucking year are we in? Don’t grow old’; ‘How nice for the audience!❤️’;
‘What a wonderful night. Two absolute icons reunited. Life was created!’; ‘The icons are iconic! IKTR!’; ‘My dream came true last night!’; ‘Spice Forever’.
Fans were especially excited about this surprise performance because it came just a month after Mel B admitted she would never perform with her former bandmates again.
Rumors have long been circulating that the Spice Girls were planning a series of concerts to celebrate the 30th anniversary of their debut single Wannabe.
And Mel C recently admitted she’s ‘optimistic’ about their chances of getting back together, saying: Smallzy Program on KIIS Radio in March: ‘We are in constant communication. We want to do something, who knows when.
‘But I still feel very optimistic and believe that you will see the Spice Girls together at some point in the future.’

While Mel B expressed how proud she was of her friend and her new album, she praised her ‘sister up north’ in return.
But last month Mel B dashed hopes of a Spice Girls comeback and said she wasn’t sure if they would reunite, despite insisting she had an “incredible bond” with her bandmates.
he said Hello: ‘I can tell you [a reunion] It’s not happening, it would be a shock to me if it did, let’s put it that way. When I look at this [2019 tour] and the way it feels to me, I’ve been on my own, but there comes a time… I’m 50 years old. You can’t nag everyone to go on tour if they don’t want to. ‘I put that aside when I turned 50.’
He added: ‘I really don’t know. I have great respect and love for those girls. I wouldn’t be sitting here if I wasn’t part of the Spice Girls.
‘They’ve done so much for me as a person and in my life. ‘I have good memories, but I don’t know if I want to go on stage again.’
In addition to scrapping reunion plans, Mel B has also seemingly dashed hopes of a proposal from the group. netflix In the documentary, he slapped his bandmates who ‘didn’t want to be honest’ on screen.
‘I think we’ve all been asked this question and we’ve all been thinking about it at some point,’ he said. ‘But it needs to be done correctly and it needs to be honest, and not everyone wants to be honest.’
Rumor has it that the project was canceled after the band could not reach an agreement, with sources claiming that Geri in particular was in a hurry to decide whether to sign or not.
In 2024, reports emerged that the ‘nightmare’ with Mel B, which left the band unable to find a manager who could ‘mediate’ to push through projects, derailed the massive deal that would have netted the five members £1 million each.
Fans were similarly thrilled with the Spice Girls’ mini reunion, with comments branding the duo ‘two absolute icons’ and begging them to come on tour.
The row began when Mel admitted to having a lesbian fling with Geri on Piers Morgan’s chat show in 2019, during the band’s 90s heyday.
Geri denied the affair took place, which Mel accused of fantasizing her to sell copies of her tell-all memoir Brutally Honest.
While Victoria said she would not join the group again, she insisted that her fashion career was her focus and reiterated that being in the Spice Girls was only four years of her life.
Speaking to Andy Cohen on Sirius XM last October, she said: ‘I was very shy before joining the Spice Girls and they made me feel like I was good enough.
‘But as much fun as it was to be on stage, I realized that wasn’t what I wanted to do anymore.’
He joked: ‘I don’t even know if I can still sing. I mean, I was never that great. It would be tempting. So can I go on a world tour? No I can’t. I have a job…’
