King Charles ‘full of regrets’ as Prince Archie milestone hours away | Royal | News

It’s not even six years since the Sussexes moved across the pond permanently, following Harry and Meghan’s departure from senior royal family duties in early 2020. The Montecito family last returned to the UK together in the summer of 2020 for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
The disagreement between the two parties is said to have caused pain to King Charles, who longed to see and engage with his grandchildren.
Now, one royal commentator has claimed Archie’s birthday this week will be a painful reminder of the royal rift for the monarch.
Royal expert Duncan Larcombe said: Mirror: “I think King Charles regrets the whole situation, he certainly wouldn’t have wanted things to go that way.
“He told me how much he enjoyed being a grandparent.”
This comes as the King did not meet his estranged son during a four-day state visit to the US last week.
Charles and Camilla performed missions in Washington, New York and Virginia in what was considered a highly successful trip across the pond.
But the King did not arrange a meeting with Harry, who was just a few miles away during his father’s stay in the US.
