Woman, Son Held For Paramour’s Murder

In a pre-planned murder, a woman and her son, who killed her lover, wrapped her body and prepared to dump her at an isolated spot in Jeedimetla, were arrested by the police in the early hours of Monday.

The accused Garnapally Aruna and his son Garnapally Sai Ratnam attacked M Shiva Reddy at their house in Ambedkarnagar in Chintal around 1.40 am. Police said Reddy, who arrived drunk, confronted Aruna and Sai Ratnam, who had supplied butcher knives. After an argument, Sai attacked Reddy while Aruna held the victim down.

Reddy died at the scene. The duo then wrapped the body in a sheet and plastic wrap while Aruna cleaned the blood stains from the walls and floor.

Sai called a friend who panicked when he saw the body and informed the police. “We along with CLUES teams rushed to the spot, arrested Aruna and Sai Ratnam red-handed and found the gun, blood-stained clothes and polythene sheet when they were about to dump the body,” said G Mallesh, SHO Jeedimetla.

Reddy, a mason, had been living in Ambedkarnagar for a decade after moving from Andhra Pradesh’s Annamayya district. He had developed a relationship with Aruna after her husband left her. Police said Aruna and Sai confessed that they were enraged by Reddy’s daily drunken attacks and decided to kill him days ago.

The defendant resisted arrest, claiming that the polythene bag contained household items. Officers opened the door to find Reddy’s body. Both were referred to the courthouse.

Reddy’s body was sent to Gandhi Hospital for autopsy. His family in Andhra Pradesh has been informed and is traveling to retrieve the remains. Panic spread in Chintal when the news of the murder was heard among the local people.

77 firefighters fight Musheerabad fire

Five people were injured and ten vehicles were damaged in a double explosion at Life Care Medical and Industrial Air Products in Babakanta of Jalpally village on Monday.

According to the complaint, the victim began receiving calls from multiple cell phone numbers, with the original caller falsely claiming to be an official of a national counterterrorism agency. The fraudsters claimed that Aadhaar details were linked to an illegal terror financing case and insisted that bank transactions needed to be verified urgently. Although he denied any involvement, the callers gave him their personal information to bolster their credibility and warned him of legal consequences.
The victim was also threatened with arrest, confiscation of his passport and restriction on leaving his home or town. The crooks kept him under constant surveillance through long phone and WhatsApp video calls, sometimes lasting hours. He was instructed not to disclose the matter to anyone, including his children, and was forced to make an undertaking that he would not discuss the case or seek outside help.
Under the pretext of clearing his name and verifying his accounts, the accused repeatedly persuaded him to transfer money to various bank accounts, assuring him that the amount would be refunded after official approval. It continued in stages, reaching a total loss of 25 lakhs.
Realizing that he had been deceived, the victim contacted cyber crime detectives. A case has been registered with Cyberabad Cyber ​​Crime police and investigation is on to trace the accused and recover the defrauded amount.
