Tenants Kill Elderly Woman At Cherlopalli In Tirupati

What are you doing? The death of an elderly woman at a house within the limits of Tirupati Rural police station in Cherlopalli, which initially appeared to be a natural death, was revealed to be murder after investigations.
T. Lokeshwari (62) was living alone in the house she owned in Cherlopalli. When he did not wake up until late on May 2, his relatives entered the house and found him lying motionless.
“At first it looked like a natural death. But the injuries on his body raised suspicion,” said Superintendent of Police L. Subba Rayudu. Revealing the details to the media on Tuesday, he said there was foul play in the disappearance of his tenants Mahalakshmi and Reddappa.
“Their sudden disappearance after death has become an important clue in the investigation,” the SP said. Following the complaint of his relatives, the police launched an investigation into the incident.
The SP said that they have formed special teams under the supervision of additional SP A. Srinivasulu. “We examined the case from every angle and traced the movements of the suspects using field inputs and technical evidence,” Subba Rayudu said.
Police tracked down Mahalakshmi and Reddappa near MLC Kalyana Mandapam in Kallur on the evening of May 4 and took them into custody. They confessed their crimes during interrogation. “They killed her while she was sleeping with the aim of stealing money and jewellery,” the SP said.
The accused took away ₹50,000 cash and ornaments. “When they tried to sell the jewellery, they realized it was gilded,” said Subba Rayudu. Police caught the accused while he was trying to escape to Vijayawada. ₹14,000 in cash and gilded jewelery were seized from them.
SP advised elderly people living alone to be careful. He urged landlords to verify tenants’ details before renting out their properties. He said that if they encounter a suspicious situation, they can call 112.
