Two chief advisors to outgoing Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee resign

He said two retired IAS officers submitted their resignations on Tuesday.
Eminent economist Abhirup Sarkar has also resigned from his dual post of chairman of West Bengal Industrial Development Corporation (WBIDC) and West Bengal Small Industries Development Corporation (WBSIDC), the state secretariat official said.
He said that the necessary administrative steps were taken after the resignations.
Bandyopadhyay was at the center of a dispute between the state and the Center over a transfer order in 2021. Later, after his retirement, he was appointed as chief advisor to the CM.
Earlier, the state’s Attorney General Kishore Dutta had submitted his resignation to Governor RN Ravi.
The BJP won 207 seats in the 294-member assembly, ending TMC’s 15-year uninterrupted rule in West Bengal.
