Man City Win WSL Title After Arsenal Draw

London: Manchester City became the Women’s Super League champions without playing for the first time in 10 years after Arsenal drew 1-1 at Brighton on Wednesday.
Third-placed Arsenal were keen to bounce back from Saturday’s Champions League defeat to Lyon and keep the title race alive in the first of their three games against City.
Arsenal boss Renee Slegers knew just a win at Brighton would be enough but the visitors were unable to find a winner after Frida Maanum’s 62nd-minute strike canceled out Fuka Tsunoda’s first goal of the first half.
The 1-1 draw signaled the end of Arsenal’s title challenge and Chelsea’s run of six consecutive league titles.
It means City celebrate silverware in their first season under boss Andree Jeglertz, claiming their first WSL title since 2016.
“Helping this team reach the WSL championship is something I will never forget,” Jeglertz said.
“The girls have met every challenge before them head on and have been a joy to coach this season.
“In good moments and bad moments, they always stuck together and found a way to win, just like all great champions do.”
