A “depraved” Derby sex offender and blackmailer who carried out a shocking list of horrific crimes against 152 young victims has been branded “every parent’s worst nightmare” by a judge.

Judge Shaun Smith KC told convicted rapist Siah Riley that in his 46 years in the legal profession he had never encountered such a prolific offender.

The 36-year-old defendant posed as a teenager by creating fake profiles on social media and persuaded nine-year-old girls to send him sexual videos and images.

When some of his victims refused to comply with his demands, the Normanton pedophile threatened to share the material they had sent him with the wider online world unless they provided him with more.

When officers finally caught the depraved criminal, they revealed how he meticulously organized the images and footage into files sorted by the names of his victims. reports Derbyshire Live.

Sentencing him to 31 years in prison, Judge Smith said: “This was depravity. The extent of your obsession with online pornography featuring young girls is truly breathtaking.”

“You have no moral compass. You are every parent’s worst nightmare.

“In my 46 years of career, I have never encountered a case with so many crimes and so many victims. In a video, you told a girl to drown herself and she understood that you were responsible.”

Prosecutor Leanne Summers confirmed the offending spanned a period of two years and eight months between 2021 and 2023. He said: “This case concerns the defendant’s prolific use of Snapchat to encourage children aged nine to 16 to share sexual images and videos with him.

“The total number of victims is 152. He used two Snapchat accounts.

“One pretended to be a teenage boy under the name Josh King, and the other pretended to be a teenage girl under the name Kim. Each time, they used their Snapchat accounts to request sexually explicit images.

“As they became reluctant, his attitude towards them often changed and he blackmailed the 24 victims by telling them he would share their images online if they did not continue sending them.

“His method was to use one device to chat with the victims and another device to record what was sent to him. He then moved these to a laptop and stored them there under the victims’ names. It is clear they did not know he was using a separate device to record them.

“When police seized his devices, they contained 1,831 images of his victims, including sexually explicit images of children that he had kept for his own sexual pleasure.”

Ms. Summers detailed a significant number of examples of videos and images that young girls sent to Riley. These included a 13-year-old girl who called the defendant “Master” and apologized “for not being able to do better.”

He then blackmailed her and threatened to post the videos to TikTok, Facebook, pornography sites, the dark web and “anywhere else he could find” if she refused to continue sending them. The prosecutor stated that when another blackmail victim told him that she was 10 years old, he replied, “I don’t care, you are so hot.”

He also told a third victim that he “hoped his parents would see” the images he threatened to share on Facebook.

Ms Summers read out victim impact statements from young girls describing how their personalities had been “destroyed” and how they felt they had “betrayed themselves”.

One mother explained: “My family will never forgive or forget what you did because every time I see the scars on my daughter’s arms, it makes me hate you a little more.”

Riley, of Walbrook Road, admitted multiple charges of causing or encouraging a child to engage in penetrative sexual activity; causing or encouraging a child to engage in non-penetrative sexual activity; Causing or encouraging a child under 16 to engage in penetrative sexual activity; Causing or encouraging a child under the age of 16 to engage in non-penetrative sexual activity; engaging in sexual communication with a child; soliciting or encouraging a child to engage in prostitution or pornography and 23 counts of extortion.

His criminal history includes a conviction for rape in 2012, for which he was sentenced to six and a half years in prison.

Steve Gosnell, mitigating, said his client had admitted several charges at the first opportunity.

“He regrets this and apologizes. He knows he will be sentenced to many years in prison.” In addition to the lengthy prison sentence, the judge also ordered Riley to be given a lifetime sexual harm prevention order as well as a permanent place on the sex offenders’ register.

The 31-year prison sentence consists of 25 years of probation plus 6 years of extended licence.
