Women’s Six Nations 2026: England prop Maud Muir’s love for cricket and ‘boshing’ defenders
Known as “boshing” (a term England forwards like to use to push defenders aside), Muir smiled when discussing the skill.
But he thinks the correct terminology is “bosh”.
“It means confronting someone and overcoming them, or tackling them and overcoming them,” says Muir.
Quietly spoken and unassuming off the pitch, the former Wasps front row player is a strong athlete who enjoys physical confrontations.
Given that he is “too aggressive” to return to cricket, he would like to one day set up a pottery room at the back of his house, complete with a wheel and a kiln, a type of kiln used to harden and dry pottery.

“This was a very special event. Being in Murrayfield in Scotland made it very special for my family, especially my father,” Muir said.

“It had the best of both worlds. It’s 77% Scottish.”
Before Saturday’s match against France, which will decide his fifth straight Grand Slam, Muir plans to head to a local pottery center to prepare a bowl for ramen.
Once the bowling Italian defenders move out of his way, he is likely to follow.
