A car crashed into “numerous pedestrians” in a busy Nottinghamshire town centre, leaving a number of people injured, including life-threatening injuries. A red Vauxhall Astra was involved in the incident at Arnold Market Place at 1.12am today (9 May).
Nottinghamshire Police said that the vehicle hit several people and one of the pedestrians suffered life-threatening injuries. Following the incident, the car was abandoned at the scene, while the driver then fled on foot. Officers have located a suspect, believed to be a white man, and are in the process of tracking him. Some roads were closed, with photos taken from the scene showing a large police cordon set up. The red car, showing signs of significant damage, can be seen inside the cordon opposite Hallam’s Lane car park.
