Man dragged from burning car after Wetherill Park crashes
A man who allegedly attacked a police officer was dragged from a burning car in Sydney’s west after a series of crashes.
The alleged destruction, which resulted in the car bursting into flames, began when it crashed into another car in Wetherill Park, Hassall Street.
The car continued on and allegedly crashed again in nearby Maugham Crescent, before crashing into a car parked in the same street and catching fire at around 11.20pm on Sunday.
People around took the 35-year-old man out of the burning vehicle. While previous accidents were reported to the police who arrived at the scene, Fire and Rescue NSW extinguished the fire.
The man allegedly did not stop to exchange information with other drivers after any of the previous crashes.
He was also alleged to have failed to provide a breath test, NSW Police said in a statement.
No injuries were reported. The 35-year-old was arrested and taken to Cabramatta Police Station where investigations continued on Monday morning.
