Woman Passenger Killed Under RTC Bus In East Godavari District

A woman passenger, Bhavana Dhana Lakshmi (50), from Sriramapuram village in Rajanagaram mandal of East Godavari district, died after being crushed under the wheels of the RTC bus from which she got off on Sunday.
According to Samalkot police, Dhana Lakshmi had boarded the RTC bus from Peddipalem to Kakinada in Vadlamuru village on her way to Rajanagaram. He got off the bus at Peddipalem stop in Samalkot. The RTC bus driver immediately accelerated and as a result, Dhana Lakshmi fell under the rear tires of the bus and died on the spot.
Learning about the incident, Kakinada depot’s in-charge manager GV Ramana and assistant manager T. Balakrishna reached Samalkot for an investigation. Police transferred Dhana Lakshmi’s body to the District Hospital in Peddapuram.
Samalkot Police has Registered a Case and is Starting Investigation.
Relatives of the deceased gathered at Samalkot Bus Stand and started protesting and demanded action against the bus driver for his rash driving. Samalkot police arrived at the scene and spoke to the relatives of the dead woman. They stated that a case has been registered and action will be taken immediately after the investigation report is submitted.
Priest Arrested on Charge of Raping Little Girl
Tadikalapudi police arrested church pastor Ch. Rambabu of Tadikalapudi is accused of repeatedly raping a 14-year-old girl and threatening her not to reveal the abuse.
Following a complaint, the police registered a case against the priest under the Pocso Act.
Tadikalapudi sub-inspector S. Valli Padma said that the accused was produced before the Chintalapudi court and the court took him into judicial custody. Police said further investigations were ongoing.
Man Killed His Son Due to Family Quarrel
Attili police arrested 43-year-old Koyyani Ganesh of Eeduru village of Attili mandal on Saturday night for allegedly killing his son K. Samuel Raju, alias Sunny, with scissors on May 8.
Following the complaint of K. Seshaveni, Attili police launched an investigation into the incident.
West Godavari SP Adnan Nayeem Asmi said domestic disputes led to the murder. It was stated that the suspect was sent to the courthouse on Sunday.
The SP said the investigation team has collected scientific evidence in the case and thanked Attili deputy inspector K N Viswanath, Iragavaram SI J. Satish and other staff for the prompt investigation.
