NEET-UG 2026 cancelled LIVE: Nashik police take paper leak accused into custody

Kejriwal encourages NEET aspirants to take to streets, alleges ‘political patronage’ in paper leak

AAP national organizer Arvind Kejriwal said students affected by the cancellation of NEET exam will have to resort to mass protests as the government only understands the language of agitation.

The National Testing Agency canceled the NEET (UG) 2026 exam held on May 3 on May 12, 2026, amid allegations of paper leaks, and the government asked the CBI to conduct a thorough investigation into “irregularities”.

Mr. Kejriwal, at a press conference, alleged that there was “political patronage” in the paper leaks, saying the NEET question paper was leaked four times in the last nine years and none of the accused were punished.

“I sympathize with all the students affected by the cancellation of NEET. I know how hard students study for such exams. Coaching is expensive and many families even pawn their jewelery to arrange money,” he said.

Stating that the paper leak was the “biggest betrayal” with the students, the former prime minister of Delhi said, “How will those who cannot prevent the paper leak manage the government? This is a matter of complete collusion.” He said the paper leaks did not happen suddenly as he alleged complicity of senior officials and accused the government of playing with the future of hundreds of thousands of students.

“I want to tell the students that they will have to take to the streets. This government only understands the language of mass agitation… Kejriwal is with you,” the AAP chief said. — PTI
