MediaTek Sees Big Opportunity As Indian EV Makers Embrace AI, High-Performance Computing

New Delhi: A senior company official said that wide AI Talent pool and electric vehicle manufacturers to adopt artificial intelligence and strong information processing offers a great opportunity in India for MediaTek.

MediaTek Product Marketing Director-Sotomotiv Platform-Rita Wu, Semiconductor Company’s AI, scalable chips (SOCS) and a strategic focus on new generation connection solutions, said India wants to go deeper in the automotive sector.

“I think the Indian market has a lot of ability in AI. The second thing is the attitude of OEMs (original equipment manufacturers). He said.

Wu summarized three main industry shifts that shape the road map tool-AD adoption, high-performance calculation capabilities (CPU, GPU, NPU) and electric vehicles (homes) demand for special power efficiency.

He said that the demand for energy efficiency technology will be high in EVs because it is very important for the power segment.

From the chipset for mobile phones, MediaTek has varied until the automobile sector provides technology, to satellite communication.

MediaTek European Product Marketing Director Sharique Khan said that even two-wheeled manufacturers in India have started to use AI chips for the company’s information-entertainment systems.

“We see that in the next three to four years, we see that the AI and high information process from the premium and scale to the entry segment depending on the cost segment in India.” He said.

He said that the increasing demand for AI -supported cockpit knowledge among the segments in India is one of the key aspects that made it strategically important for MediaTek.

When asked for volumes for semiconductors, Khan said that volumes typically started with the premium segment and eventually stepped.

He said that customized solutions will play an important role in the Indian home market.
