Trump posts late-night social media spree as Iran war drags on | Donald Trump

Donald Trump unleashed a late-night social media tirade against his political enemies; He attacked his predecessors, including Barack Obama, with false accusations and amplified calls for the prosecution of his Democratic rivals.

The US president posted more than 50 times in a three-hour frenzy from Monday evening to the early hours of Tuesday, just hours before his risky trip to China to meet Xi Jinping. The posts included doctored photos of the $100 bill and demanded the arrest of political opponents.

Millions of Americans face increasing economic pressure from the United States and Israel’s war with Iran, while living costs are rising in much of the country. Trump appeared to acknowledge that pressure early Monday when he signaled support for a plan to stem the sharp rise in fuel costs.

Trump, who has campaigned for years against the US engaging in “endless wars”, has repeatedly drawn the timeline of the war against Iran, which began with US and Israeli attacks in late February. He described the ceasefire agreement reached with Tehran earlier this week as “on life support”.

Late Monday evening, Trump promoted the following posts on his Truth Social platform: wrongly accused Obama is also accused of planning a coup against Trump allegations He called Obama a “traitor” and “the most evil force in American politics.” Trump also shared photos of Obama, former president Joe Biden and former House speaker Nancy Pelosi in the reflecting pool of the Lincoln Memorial. Altered images show the pool, which Trump suggested should be changed to “American flag blue”, to be filled with sewage under title: “Dumakrats love sewers”.

The president also lashed out after the New York Times reported that a $6.9 million contract to renovate a reflecting pool was hastily awarded to a company renovating a swimming pool at a Virginia golf course.. “This isn’t just a paint job, it’s an extremely complex, clever and beautiful construction job,” he said.

Other targets of Trump’s late-night speech included Illinois governor JB Pritzker; Hakeem Jeffries, House minority leader; and Hillary Clinton, against whom he ran in the 2016 presidential election. He also repeated false claims about the 2020 presidential election, which he lost to Biden but continues to insist was stolen from him.

Trump also reiterated his disapproval of many conservative justices he has previously appointed, including Neil Gorsuch and Amy Coney Barrett, who voted against his tariff agenda earlier this year.

Trump said Gorsuch “is a really smart and good man, but for him to vote against me and our country on tariffs is a devastating move.” wrote. “How do I reconcile this? It’s so bad and hurtful to our Country. I’ve always loved and respected Amy Coney Barrett, too, but the same goes for her. They were appointed by me, and yet they hurt our Country so badly!”
