Bengaluru recorded a pass percentage of 93.19 in the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) class 12 examinations, securing the third position among districts in the results announced by CBSE on May 13. The city was ranked behind Thiruvananthapuram and Chennai.
According to CBSE data, a total of 22,459 students from Bengaluru region registered for class 12 exams this year. Of these, 22,386 students took the exam and 20,861 passed.
The board reiterated that it has not published any merit list and will not award first, second or third division, in line with its previous decision to discourage unhealthy competition among students.
However, CBSE said merit certificates will be awarded to the top 0.1% of students who score the highest marks in each subject. These certificates will be made available to students through DigiLocker.
