Device with low-grade explosives found inside private hospital in Pune; ATS joins probe

Police said that a device containing low-grade explosives was found on the premises of a private hospital in Hadapsar area of Pune city on Wednesday, May 13, 2026.
It was stated that a team from the Bomb Detection and Disposal Team (BDDS) was immediately dispatched to the scene and took the object to a nearby place and destroyed it.
“A device containing low-grade explosives was found on the premises of a hospital. BDDS was called and the explosives were successfully disposed of,” Commissioner of Police Amitesh Kumar told reporters outside the hospital at night.
“Pune police, crime branch and Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) are investigating the case from all possible angles, including terrorism,” the senior IPS officer said.
