Nagarjuna to Abide by Telugu Film Chamber Decisions, a Good Move Amid the Rift

Veteran actor Nagarjuna Akkineni and Annapurna Studios have clarified their stand on the ongoing feud between the Producers Guild and the Telangana Exhibitors Association.
About
Nagarjuna owns Annapurna Studios, one of the leading production and distribution companies in the Telugu film industry. Her niece Supriya Yarlagadda manages various operations of the studio and is also an active member of the Producers Guild.
“They are members of both the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce and the Active Producers Guild and have consistently supported discussions on cost-cutting measures in the industry,” says a source.
At the same time, Nagarjuna and Annapurna Studios share a long-standing partnership with exhibitor-distributor Suniel Narang of Asian Cinemas. Therefore, the studio is said to be taking a balanced approach during the ongoing dispute between producers and exhibitors.
At a time when tensions have been rising in recent days, Annapurna Studios’ statement is seen as an effort to support the apex trade body and maintain industry unity.
Meanwhile, Annapurna Studios has also been expanding its distribution activities in recent months. The company will release Tamil star Suriya’s Veerabhadrudu in Telugu states and will also distribute Kannada film Bala The Boy in June.
“Annapurna Studios is now becoming more active in distribution and is looking to acquire more content-driven films to reach Telugu audiences,” concludes the source.
