Best CM Bengal can have: Mithun Chakraborty praises Suvendu

Adhikari visited Chakraborty’s home in New Town, adjacent to Kolkata, and held discussions for about an hour before embarking on his first tour of the districts, with the first destination being the politically important Diamond Harbor in South 24 Parganas.
After the meeting, Chakraborty called Adhikari “the best chief minister West Bengal could have had” and said he was confident that the BJP leader would bring “real changes” in the state in the coming days.

Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Chakraborty said, “I can assure the people that there cannot be a better CM than him. He is the best. He started working from the first day after taking oath.” he said.
Union minister Sukanta Majumdar also lives in the housing complex where Chakraborty lives in New Town.
BJP leaders termed the meeting as a “courtesy visit” and a gesture of gratitude to Chakraborty for his role in the last election campaign. Read more: West Bengal government issues major new order regarding closure of toll plazas
Speaking after the meeting, Adhikari said Chakraborty had been working “day and night” for the party for the last 5-6 years and played a key role in bringing about political change in the state.
“He is my senior. I came to seek his blessings. We discussed the work that needs to be done. However, we cannot share the details of the road map we discussed,” Adhikari said.
The Chief Minister described Chakraborty as one of the important well-wishers of the BJP who did not seek any post and “gave it all” during the election campaign by holding numerous rallies and internal meetings across the state.
Party leaders said Chakraborty campaigned extensively in north and south Bengal despite his health problems and continued to campaign even after experiencing physical strain during busy election schedules.
After the meeting, Adhikari left for South 24 Parganas to begin his tour of the district, where he was expected to hold an administrative meeting; This is a move seen as politically significant as the BJP attempts to strengthen its organizational base in the region ahead of the election in the Falta assembly seat.
Adhikari’s visit to Diamond Harbor holds significance as the parliamentary constituency is represented by Trinamool Congress national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee and falls within the constituency of Falta assembly seat, where elections are scheduled to be held on May 21.
The Election Commission opposed the election held in Falta on April 29 following major irregularities, including allegations of EVM tampering and voter intimidation.
