BBC Countryfile’s Adam Henson has one problem with Starmer’s Labour government | Celebrity News | Showbiz & TV

Countryfile star Adam Henson has spoken out about the lack of education Britain currently has under the Labor government. The BBC presenter, who will appear at Farm Fest later this month, said the lack of education was also affecting other areas such as health.

Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk, Adam said: “If you look at the NHS they are struggling but some of that is down to poor nutrition. It’s not always about not eating enough, sometimes it’s about eating the wrong food. A lot of that has to do with education.” He added that he “wishes we had GCSE” to teach young people the importance of agriculture and what it involves. But this type of training seems to be lacking; Television seems to do a better job of this.

Adam said: “I think programs like Countryfile, which I’ve been on, Clarkson’s Farm and Channel 5’s Time on the Farm and Yorkshire Shepherdess on YouTube – there’s a lot of farming programs on TV at the moment and it’s great.

“I think it’s really important to get the story out to the public about the energy, effort and expertise that goes into agriculture. It’s really important for people to understand where their food really comes from.”

Asked whether the current Labor government, led by Sir Keir Starmer, is doing enough to help farmers, Adam said: “They work closely with the National Farmers Union and have taken input from the previous government, the Conservatives, to implement many of the environmental plans that the Labor government is pursuing for the foreseeable future.

“But I think we rely on the NFU to lobby the government to support British agriculture to the best of their ability.”

The man will be on stage soon Great British Farm Festival – A new three-day celebration of modern British farming. Taking place at NAEC Stoneleigh, Warwickshire, from 22 to 24 May, the Festival blends serious agricultural insights with large-scale entertainment, positioning itself as the UK’s most ambitious farm-led public event to date.

Speaking about the event, he said: “There will be lots of people to see, lots to do and learn about farming. It will be great fun and there is a lot to look forward to.”

Highlights include animals at Adam Henson’s Cotswold Farm Park, working dog exhibits, heavy machinery displays and forward-looking agricultural technology displays. Visitors can also attend live demonstrations at the Field to Fork Cookery Theater as well as talks by leading farming voices at the Big Barn Theatre.

The event will also feature leading figures from the world of farming, food and publishing, including Matt Tebbutt, Gareth Wyn Jones, John Craven, Xand Van Tulleken and Chris Moyles.
