Ukraine anti-corruption officials held after searches

Ukrainian security services have arrested the authorities from the country’s main Anti -Corruption Agency and made dozens of searches in a pressure that the agency has gone too far and said that it was effectively closed.
The Sbu Security Organ said that he arrested an official at the Ukrainian National Anti -Corruption Office as a suspicious Russian spy and another suspect business ties.
Sbu said other Nabu officials had ties with the banned party of a illegal Ukrainian politician.
However, Nabu, who embarrassed senior government officials with allegations of corruption, said that the pressure went beyond the state security problems to meet irrelevant allegations such as annual traffic accidents.
Anti -Corruption Transparency International, calls for the authorities of Ukraine’s corruption fighters “showed great pressure”, he said.
In connection with 15 employees, Nabu said that at least 70 calls were made by various Ukrainian law enforcement officers and security institutions and that they took place without the approval of the court.
“In the majority of the cases, the reasons for these actions are the inclusion of individuals in traffic accidents.”
Nabu said in a statement that the risk of infiltration was “relevant, but this could not be a justification for” stopping the whole institution “.
Vitaliy Shabunin, the best anti -corruption activist in Anti -Corruption Campaigns, has been worried at the beginning of this month since he was accused of avoiding fraud and military service.
Shabunin and his allies used these charges as a politically motivated ordeal for revealing the corrupt officials of President Volodymyr Zelenskiy.
Sbu is subject to Zelenskiy.
On Monday, he condemned the calls of Shabun’s Nabu staff.
Zelenskiy’s office rejects that prosecution in Ukraine is political motivated.
Sbu said that he had arrested a mole working in Russian intelligence in Nabu and arrested a mole who has spent information on the operator at least 60 times.
Separately, his father detained a senior Nabu detective on suspicion of acting as an intermediary in industrial cannabis sales to Russia.
A third statement said that some senior Nabu officials had ties with Fedir Khrystenko, who is believed to have escaped from Ukraine after the Russian invasion in 2022.
The State Investigation Office, a separate law enforcement office, said that he had made suspicion notifications for traffic accidents that resulted in injuries to three NABU employees.
Nabu said that traffic accident cases were two to four years old.
Transparency International said that the execution of searches without court orders shows the great nature of the pressure on the law enforcement officers that fight against corruption “.
He called on Zelenskiy to guarantee the independence of Ukraine’s anti -corruption organs.
